iOS App

The SipherMail iOS app is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad running iOS 16 or later.

Requirements

• iOS 16.0 or later
• iPhone or iPad (universal app)
• ~100 MB download

Setup

1. Download from the App Store.
2. Open the app and sign in with your SipherMail credentials. OAuth (Google, Microsoft) supported.
3. Enable Face ID / Touch ID for quick secure unlock (recommended).
4. Allow push notifications when prompted — required for new email alerts.

iPad layout

On iPad, SipherMail uses a three-pane layout: folder sidebar, email list, and email reader — all visible simultaneously in landscape. The Sipher AI 4th pane can be opened alongside the reader.

Push notifications

Notifications arrive for new email matching your notification filters. Configure which folders send notifications in Settings → Notifications. Notification previews can be disabled for privacy.

Biometric unlock

Enable Face ID or Touch ID in Settings → Security → Biometric Unlock. When enabled, you must authenticate to open the app after it has been in the background for 5 minutes (configurable).

Home screen widgets

Add SipherMail widgets from the iOS widget gallery. Available widget sizes:

• Small — Unread email count
• Medium — Latest 3 email subjects
• Compose shortcut — Tap to open a new compose window instantly

Troubleshooting

• If push notifications don't arrive, check Settings app → SipherMail → Notifications on your iPhone.
• If the app crashes on launch, try deleting and re-installing from the App Store.
• For email sync issues, pull to refresh in the inbox.
