Android App

The SipherMail Android app is available on Google Play for phones running Android 10 or later.

Requirements

• Android 10.0 or later
• ~100 MB download
• Google Play Services required for push notifications

Setup

1. Download from Google Play.
2. Sign in with your SipherMail credentials.
3. Enable biometric unlock (fingerprint or face unlock) for security.
4. Allow notifications when prompted.

Push notifications

Push notifications are delivered via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). If you're not receiving notifications, check that battery optimisation is disabled for SipherMail in Android settings (Settings → Apps → SipherMail → Battery → Unrestricted).

Biometric unlock

Enable in Settings → Security → Biometric Unlock. SipherMail integrates with Android's BiometricPrompt API for fingerprint and face unlock.

Troubleshooting

• If push notifications don't arrive, disable battery optimisation for SipherMail.
• If the app is slow, clear the app cache (Settings → Apps → SipherMail → Storage → Clear Cache).
• For email sync issues, pull to refresh in the inbox.
