Compose & Reply
SipherMail's compose window is a full rich-text editor with AI writing assistance built in.
Rich text editor
The editor supports:
- Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough
- Headings (H1–H3), bullet lists, numbered lists
- Inline code and code blocks
- Hyperlinks (⌘K / Ctrl+K)
- Inline images and file attachments
- Table insertion
AI writing assistance
While composing, you can invoke Sipher AI directly in the editor:
- Rewrite — Improve clarity, tone, or formality of selected text.
- Continue Writing — Let AI complete a sentence or paragraph in your style.
- AI Reply Suggestions — Three draft replies generated from the thread context.
- Meeting Assistant — Detect meeting requests and generate a calendar invitation draft.

Signatures
Configure your email signature in Settings → Account → Signature. Signatures support rich HTML, inline images, and are appended automatically to new emails (not replies, by default).
Send options
- Send now —
⌘ Enter/Ctrl+Enter - Scheduled send — Click the dropdown arrow next to Send. See Scheduled Send.
- Save as draft — Drafts are auto-saved every 30 seconds to the server.
- Discard — Permanently deletes the draft.
Reply vs Reply All vs Forward
- Reply — Replies to the sender only. Quotes the last message.
- Reply All — Replies to all recipients, including CC. Available in the ⋯ per-message menu or the Reply All toolbar button.
- Forward — Sends the full original email (including images and HTML formatting) to a new recipient.
